KNITTING is FUN !!!

Luke's pullover was my first completed knitted project. It was not too hard to knit (phew!) I did get into trouble though as I did not use enough red. But he has worn it twice now and is still intact. I heard him telling his Dad that he likes to wear it as mummy put a lot of hard work into it!

And here is my first sock - I am about to cast on to begin its partner now. Next time I will make the foot slightly smaller - but it is all a learning curve isn't it !
The funny thing is I never thought I would knit! Now I have a cream / beige jacket for me on needles, a pull over for Anna-Kate and another sock! So I am a busy bee.
Greg left for Syria this morning so have to keep busy to keep out of trouble!
Stay well.

The Family Christmas Party.

Here we all are ! Me, Abigail (my sister), Mum, Dad, Tom and Benjamin (my brothers). We had our family Christmas party yesterday as Mum, Dad and Abs are off to Barcelona for Christmas - if the fog behaves !!!

Anna-Kate and Luke having a quick cuddle with Granny before the party began. Luke is wearing the first item of clothing I have knitted. I did get into trouble as it does not have enough red in - as red is the best colour in the world ever - apparently.
Granny is reading a letter from Father Christmas explaining why he had delivered a few presents early....

Here is Luke with his BIG packet FULL of presents. He was a very happy little boy. Plus there were loads of balloons flying around the room.
Luke loves his fort - here he is re-enacting various battles.

Halloween 2007!

This year we bought and carved pumpkins. My two skeletons were ready much too early to trick and treat. Please note Luke's shoes! We were the first out trick and treating - thankfully the weather was not too cold - and great fun was had by my two skeletons.

Greg took the kiddies on a hike.

While Greg was here he took the kiddies on a hike (and the fat dog - sorry Brandy!) They had

great fun !

November 2007 - where does the time go?

I can not believe that it is November .... Vanessa whispers it is almost Christmas - as I am typing this there are Christmas adverts on the television!
I am still going to Slimming World every Thursday - I was slimmer of the week last week! Here are some pictures showing my weight loss journey - it all started on the 28th of May!
This is the picture that made me join Slimming World - two and a half stones ago!

Luke and I - not the most flattering of amgles I know but I am still big!

And this is me a week ago !

Mum and Dad were here celebrating Greg's holiday home - and Luke got hold of my camara so I have some interesting photographs!

Here are a couple ...

Greg and I after a glass of wine I am thinking!

Our August Holiday.

Our holiday has come and gone already. Time really does fly when you are having fun surrounded by family ! Here we all are on Tenby beach.

The differences between my two kiddies! Anna-Kate is like her dad and doesn't feel the cold so she is wearing a brand new summer dress. Luke is wearing a nice and warm sweatshirt - he feels the cold just like me! Anna-Kate was trying to pull Abi faces while this photo of her was being taken.

Grandpa and Luke having a BBQ.

Grandpa and Luke outside at the fire. Then Luke had the bright idea to cook a sweet - from the look on his face I think it was yummy!

Sunflowers.

We love sunflowers. My children and I have planted a lot of sunflowers. Here are the tallest ones at the moment - we still have many sunflowers growing so who knows if these will be overtaken !
The first photo is the sunflower next to the shed it is more than double the height of Anna-Kate and Luke. As you can see in the second picture the sunflower is taller than the shed and I think the shed is 8 foot at the tallest section!
In the third photgraph you can see some more sunflowers growing next to the garage and my tallest sunflower is higher than the conservatory now!
The fourth and fifth pictures are arty ones - for my sister (just for you Abs!!!)
The last photo is one of my favourites, we have had stormy / rainy weather it just shows the beauty of nature!

Luke and the Sunflowers.

OK I know I am harping on about my garden - but with all the rain we have had (are having) it
is growing well. Here is my full corner - lilies, chocolate mint, lemon tree, tomatoes, marigolds (lots of them!), corn, oak tree, lettuce, sunflowers, runner beans, peppers, chillies, broccoli, cabbage, spring onion, mint and more as I am sure I have forgotten something.

We took Anna-Kate to Brokerswood for a Brownie BBQ - when we came out the garden was calling us so we went outside. My sunflowers are going to bloom soon ...
Here is one of the heads - I can not wait to see them out.

Luke in front of the sunflower row. They are twice his height now.

Should I be worried? Are these thunder clouds ...just showing you how tall my sunflower is - and
you can see the tip of my runner beans.

This sunflower is as tall as my conservatory !

My boy next to my £1 rose bush from Wilkinson.

Day Lilies

This one came out on Sunday - while I was mowing the lawn - badly !!! My lines are rather creative ... but it had to be done.

My ladybird.

I have not seen many this year but here is another ladybird, she was on my rhubarb and then I bumped her accidently.

Anna-Kate's Weather Project.

I let Anna-Kate take her camara into school last Thursday. The whole school has been learning about weather and so had a display in the hall. Here are her pictures.

The windmill poster Anna-Kate helped create.
