My First Finished Quilt ...

Ok - I have finished my mini quilt for the spring mini quilt swap, at long last !I hope it is up to scratch. I am a bit nervous to be honest, as I have not competed a quilt ever - have loads of half finished ones but have never quilted anything !! And I have NEVER put on binding either ... I completed it this morning and put it straight into the washing machine ... I hovered over it while it was in the machine.
I hand dyed all the fabic so was soooo worried it would run in the wash... so I took a before picture just in case, then took a picture of it swimming in the machine. The third picture is it out of the washing machine.... the side is not as wobbly as it looks in the pic, it must be the angle. I am drying it as we speak and will pop it in the post tomorrow.
Now I can get back to my quilting homework and other swaps !

I hate doing bindings too as its never often that chance comes my way as working on too many things, I like your design its simple and fresh and love how you have dyed the fabrics here.

Thank you, thank you thank you!!!! I am so excited that I got your first finished quilt! It's so cute, you did a great job! I can't wait to keep up with your blog. I'd love to hear more about growing up in Africa and life there. We visited Kenya for my husband to work at a rural hospital about 6 years ago for about 5 weeks.
Thanks again!
